During a visit to Budapest, Hungary, I paid a courtesy visit to a shop selling Vass shoes, a brand that is rare worldwide.

Since we went in December, there was a Christmas market going on and it was very lively. Hot wine was also available for about 200 yen, so it was a good deal. We headed to Vass feeling a little tipsy.

The selection was very extensive, and the staff were very helpful. They had a wide variety of shoes, with a wide variety of styles for low boots, and a wide selection of Chelsea and high-low boots. There appears to be a workshop on the second floor, so if you're confident in your English, I recommend asking for a tour.
Personally, I had the impression that Vass shoes were very sturdy and tough, and when I saw the actual shoes, they were just as sturdy and heavy as I imagined. The price range for a simple Oxford started at around $600, so it's definitely better to buy them in the country of origin.
Vass is also famous for its incredibly popular shoemaking textbook, "Handmade Shoes for Men." This book gives a good understanding of how shoes are made in the Vass workshop, so if you visit the shop after reading it, you may find yourself looking at Vass shoes from a new perspective. This book was also on display in the shop.
